Over the past few weeks we have been learning the story, The Rainbow Fish. The children have become storytellers and have shown confidence in their performance. We have been talking about friendships and how sharing is caring and that this makes us happy, just like The Rainbow Fish and his friends. You can see lots of the fish artwork displayed in the classroom, so come on in and have a look!
The children have also been busy designing and making models using recycled boxes and tubes. It has been really interesting to listen to the children describe their designs and how they work.
The Nativity show-show is now in rehearsal. The children are fantastic singers and dancers and are looking forward to becoming stars on the stage!

Lots of fun this week....following instructions to make rockets, using diggers to move stones and water, enjoying our 'comfy corner', weaving ribbons, completing puzzles, writing cvc words, reading words, learning to subtract, dressing up, and many more great activities.
We followed some magic sparkles that appeared in our classroom and found some clues which helped us find a brilliant box full of all things to do with 'The Rainbow Fish'. We then created some super fish pictures and are now becoming storytellers by learning the story and performing it, wearing our special storytelling cloaks.
As the weather has turned colder we are wrapping up warm in our coats, hats, gloves and scarfs. We have also loved drinking warm milk and hot chocolate for our outdoor snack time.

What a busy week:
We have been learning about the Hindu festival Diwali, the festival of light. The children have dressed up in colourful Asian clothes, learned some Indian dancing moves, created some beautiful rangoli patterns using chalks and used masks to help retell the story of Rama and Sita.
The children have also been learning about how we celebrate Bonfire Night in the UK. They have learned about fire safety and learned this poem off by heart:
Remember, remember the 5th of November.
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason,
Should ever be forgot.
We thoroughly enjoyed making our own sparklers with sticks and ribbons and explored mixing paint colours, making firework art.
On Friday we had fun jumping in puddles, dancing with leaves and guess what....we made some yummy, hot rice pudding for our snack!

This half term has been brilliant! The children have settled well, developed friendships and demonstrated their love for learning. We have used all areas of the inside and outdoor classrooms learning new skills through play; made new friends; retold stories; created works of art; built structures with big bricks; helped our friends; made carrot soup with our own home produce; learned about the sounds we hear and their corresponding letters; counted to 100; danced in silly ways; learned new songs;  investigated and explored our great outdoors......and had lots of fun!

Thank you for all your continued support.
