What a busy week:
We have been learning about the Hindu festival Diwali, the festival of light. The children have dressed up in colourful Asian clothes, learned some Indian dancing moves, created some beautiful rangoli patterns using chalks and used masks to help retell the story of Rama and Sita.
The children have also been learning about how we celebrate Bonfire Night in the UK. They have learned about fire safety and learned this poem off by heart:
Remember, remember the 5th of November.
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason,
Should ever be forgot.
We thoroughly enjoyed making our own sparklers with sticks and ribbons and explored mixing paint colours, making firework art.
On Friday we had fun jumping in puddles, dancing with leaves and guess what....we made some yummy, hot rice pudding for our snack!
