· Making boats from Lego and the big bricks.

· Making paper boats and blowing them with straws; having a race!

· Making treasure maps, labelling them, using positional language and writing a message in a bottle.

· Finding out how many cubes a boat can hold before it sinks.

· Investigating floating and sinking.

· Experimenting with the height and flow of water in the guttering and measuring how far the boats will go.

· Reading and acting out the story of Captain Duck.

· Going for our end of year picnic!

As part of our work on minibeasts we are planning to hold an ‘Ugly Bug Ball’ on Wednesday the 20th May.  Please could the children come to school that day dressed in a simple minibeast costume– either real or imaginary.

We will be inviting parents to come to school in the afternoon to take part in our Ugly Bug Ball and see what the children have been learning this term.

Please come and ask if you have any questions.
